We are very grateful for the support of our community. This month the Adirondack Artists' Guild will host a month long silent auction for the benefit of the SLVFD. It all kicks off with a reception Friday night January 9th 2015 at 5:00pm at the Adirondack Artists' Guild located at 52 Main Street in Saranac Lake. We hope to see you there.

Fire Auction at the Guild!

There will be a Fire Auction at the Adirondack Artists' Guild through the
month of January. Fortunately, this is not due to a fire at the gallery. This will
be the Fifth Annual Benefit Auction hosted by the Artists' Guild. For each of
those years, the Guild has held an ongoing auction to support an important
non-profit group in the community. This year's auction will benefit a most
worthy community organization, the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire
Department. Special artwork created for the occasion by members of the
Adirondack Artists' Guild will be on display and available for bids in a
month-long Silent Auction. Supporters of the SLVFD and interested buyers
can bid on the displayed works at anytime during the Fire Auction. Seventy five
percent of all proceeds go directly to the Fire Department with the artists
getting twenty-five percent to compensate material expenses.

The Fire Auction begins with an opening reception on Friday, January 9th
from 5pm to 7pm and runs through Sunday, February 1st. Members of the
SLVFD and the AAG will be on hand at the opening reception with
refreshments provided by the Department. Past benefit auctions have been
very successful and significant funds have been raised for the supported
organizations. Fire Chief Brendan Keough reports that the Fire Department is
facing a major expense to satisfy upgrade requirements for their Airpacks. He
sees proceeds from the auction helping offset some of that expense. Come to
the reception, check back regularly and bid often. It's the hot thing in town
this January – and for a great cause.
