| On December 2nd the Aktion Club of Saranac Lake made a donation to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Departmant and Rescue Corporation.
The Aktion Club is a Kiwanis sponsored club for people with a disability. An Aktion Club, like all Kiwanis Clubs, focus on community activities. Members are expected to pay dues, attend meetings and participate in community activities. The club has ten plus members and has been active during the past year with dances for local community residences.
Prior to each dance they decide which local non-profit will receive the profits from the dances held. This past October they decided to stage a Halloween Dance and voted on giving their donation to the Fire Department and the Rescue Squad. They decorated the basement of the 1st United Methodist Church for the dance and one of the members of the Aktion Club provided the DJ talent for the music. The dance was well attended and everyone had fun.
On December 2nd The SLVFD opened it's regular monthly meeting with a special presentation from the Aktion Club. Aktion Club President Jason Borden, Vice President Ricky Sullivan, Scott Haig, Treasurer, and DJ Brandon Berg presented the two donations of sixty dollars each to the SLVFD and the SLVRS.
The AKTION CLUB would like to make this an annual dance with the proceeds going to the Fire and Rescue groups!
