| The SLVFD hosted its annual open house today. Members guided the public through tours of the fire station, handed out fire safety literature, showed videos, and hosted a fire safety coloring contest.
A special guest appearance was made by "Smokey Bear" and "Sparky the Dalmatian".
The Franklin County Fire Prevention Team was on hand with a special Fire Prevention Trailer that is a replica of a small house that is capable of being filled with smoke to give children an opportunity to experience a small amount of non-toxic smoke and practice a fire drill.
It is our hope that all had a good time and we look forward to future community events. |
