The Honor Roll

Members achieve honorary status when they leave active membership only if they have completed 20 years of active service in good standing with the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department.  The Executive Committee of the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department may at their discretion approve a member for honorary status who has served less than 20 years only if that member has become physically unable to perform the duties of an active member.

It is important to recognize the spouses and families of these dedicated members. They have also contributed many years by virtue of supporting their volunteer.  They have endured countless missed suppers, They have been awakened nightly by the same pager that rouses the actual member.  Their volunteer has been absent for many special times and events.  These family members may not have been on the frontline but they are truly first rate community servants deserving of our praise.
