SLVFD Deployed As Part Of Statewide Response To Buffalo Snowstorm

Units from the Saranac Lake, Hogansburg-Akwesasne, and the Owls Head-Mountain View Volunteer Fire Departments have deployed to Erie county following a monster lake effect snowstorm. The 3 Franklin county fire departments are participating as part of a statewide response.

Fire Drivers Rick Yorkey and Charlie Duprey are expected to arrive in the Buffalo area at around 7:30am this morning. They are travelling in Misc. 349 with a trailer containing SLVFD's tracked 4 wheeler and rescue-boggin. it is expected that they will be assigned to assist stranded motorist still stuck in vehicles and potentially assist in other search and rescue duties.

Hogansburg is providing manpower and 2 snowmobiles, Owls Head is providing manpower and a snowmobile.

The 3 Franklin county departments departed Saranac Lake last night at approximately midnight and have traveled all night. They are expected to be deployed for 24-36 hours.
