Four Wheeler Raffle Winner Drawn at the 2011 SLVFD Annual Open House

The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department held its annual open house today as part of Fire Prevention Week.

Members of the public were invited to tour the fire station and fire trucks and meet with firefighters and pet Smokey. Special features included the first public viewing of the new Ladder 144, There was a special visit from Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Safety Dalmatian.

Members of Franklin County's Fire Prevention Team were on hand with the fire prevention trailer where youngsters can experience a realistic fire drill complete with non-toxic smoke.

As part of the festivities "We Have A Winner" Congratulations to W. Main of Allendale New Jersey who won the four wheeler raffle.

The SLVFD is very grateful for all who donated to the department by purchasing raffle tickets.

The SLVFD will be participating in other Fire Safety events throughout the week including visiting with school children from throughout the area.
