| Despite being one of the busiest periods the SLVFD can ever remember (6 Structure Fires and a historic multi day flooding incident all within the past 5 weeks!!!) Members of the SLVFD carved out time to participate in the annual Memorial Day parade and service in Saranac Lake.
The SLVFD's culture is full of tradition and it is a culture that honors those who have served and sacrificed. We not only honor our military, but also our families, our past members, and fallen firefighters everywhere who have passed on before us.
For those interested, we invite you to stop and observe our monument next to the firehouse. We also invite you to follow the link on the left "Honors and Awards" and click on "Honor Roll". There you can view the names of our members "both alive and deceased" who have left active service after serving 20 years of with the SLVFD, became disabled while serving with the SLVFD, or who died while in active service with the SLVFD.
We will never forget!!! |
