Each year in conjunction with Fire Safety Week (this year Oct 9th through 15th) The SLVFD hosts an annual open house. This year was special as it is our first one since 2019. 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the pandemic. We are very happy to be able to open our doors once again and host members of the community.

As you might expect all of our equipment and our station were on full display. This years highlight was a Jaws of Life demonstration featuring a set of battery operated jaws which we are testing and are actively fundraising for.

The public was able to see the new battery operated jaws and members were able to handle and use them. 2 old vehicles were staged behind the station so members had props to practice cutting on. A special thank you to Maddens garage for providing the cars.

Thank you to everyone who came by today, it is really our pleasure to visit with you, show you our station and equipment, provide important safety information, and spend some time with the community we love and support.

Please enjoy some photos of todays event.
