Holidays at the SLVFD are a lot of fun.

It has become an annual tradition to decorate the firehouse during the annual Holiday Helplers Toy Drive. This was always a favorite time, because members of the community would stop in to drop off toys and say hi and visit with the firefighters while they completed the task of decorating. For the last two years the toy drive has been held at the Baptist church, but our little tradition has continued. Yesterday during the toy drive a crew of 6 members stayed behind at the station and did the exterior decorating of the firehouse.

Special thank you to Moody's Tree Farm for providing the pine garland, and wreaths. The crew at the station hung the garland and lights which were lit last night for the first night officially kicking off the season.

The Toys have been collected, the firehouse has been decorated!!! Next up is Santa who will arrive at the SLVFD on Friday December 3rd. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be escorted through town via lighted fire truck and sleigh in the evening of Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th.

Details about Santa's escort through town can be found at the below link and by following our facebook page on the night of the event where Santa's itinerary will be broadcast in real time.

We are wishing everybody a safe and happy holiday season.
