For the second year, due to the COVID pandemic our usual lighted fire truck Santa parade will not happen again this year. That will not dampen our spirits or Holiday Cheer. Santa is still going to parade through town on a lighted fire truck and sleigh.

Instead of the normal large gathering downtown, in order to promote social distancing Santa will drive through specific neighborhoods on different routes on two separate evenings. Children will be able to see Santa as he rides with the fire department on a lighted fire truck.

On Friday, December 3rd Santa will take to following route:
SLVFD-Broadway-Civic Center-Fairview St.-Olive St.-Canaras Ave-Lake St.-Riverside Dr.- Birch St.-Sears Parking Lot-Margaret St.-Elm St.-Park Ave-Old Military-SLVFD

Saturday December 4th Santa will take the following route:
SLVFD-Bloomingdale Ave.-Pine St.-Around Moody Pond-Pine St-Franklin Ave-Shepard Ave-Pine St.-Pontiac Ave-Slater Ave-Dorchester Rd-Lake Flower Ave-River St-Church St- Main St-Sears Parking Lot-SLVFD

On both of these nights Santa will depart the firehouse at approximately 6:00pm and announcements as to the route and progress of travel will be posted live in real time on our facebook page.

Folks waiting to see Santa are asked to social distance, if your street is not on our route we ask that you find an open space on one of the streets we will be traveling or in one of the larger area’s such as the civic center or the Sears/Edward Jones parking lot.

It is our hope that area children will enjoy a visit from Santa, We can’t wait to see you along Santa’s parade route...
