A great turn out today. It is remarkable to watch our community come together to ensure area children do not go without presents at Christmas.

As in years past folks and organizations passed through SLVFD's station throughout the day dropping off donations of unwrapped presents bound for the "Holiday Helpers" where they will be distributed to families in need throughout our community.

Folks were also able to support the event by buying and enjoying some chili provided by the SLVFD auxiliary. All proceeds were donated to Holiday Helpers.

Of course what would a day at the SLVFD station be without a few "real life" calls during the event. At 11:53am the SLVFD was dispatched to assist the Bloomingdale VFD. They had a tractor trailer (milk truck) roll over in their territory. Bloomingdale VFD was also hosting a toy drive with plans to deliver the toys collected there to the SLVFD. In the end all the toys were collected without interruption. Then at 1:58pm as the event was wrapping up the SLVFD was dispatched to Adirondack Medical Center for an electrical fire. Video's of our apparatus leaving the station are shown below... As busy as the "real life" calls were, they merely added to the excitement and the experience... We had enough personnel on hand and in the end nothing interfered with the toy drive nor the decorating of the fire station. It was a successful day!!!

The SLVFD would like to thank everyone who contributed to todays success... Please enjoy the photos taken throughout the day.
