The SLVFD would like to welcome our newest members who attended their first regular department meeting on May 2nd. The SLVFD is always looking to attract new members. Members are expected to attend meetings, attend extensive training and respond to emergencies. It is a huge commitment, but for those willing to put forth the effort this is an extremely gratifying career where you can learn a new trade, be of great service to your community and you will belong to one of the strongest comraderies ever!

Codey LaPage joins us as a Probationary Firefighter. Codey is a lifelong native of Saranac Lake and works for the New York State Department of Transportation. He is a 2007 graduate of Saranac Lake High School. Cody played football for SLHS and still enjoys watching football, Cody also enjoys playing softball and spending time with his two daughters Khloey and Grace. Codey enjoys hunting and any outdoor activities. Becoming a firefighter has been a long term dream for Codey and we wish him great success.

Keegan Tyler is finishing up his junior year at Saranac Lake High School and joins us as a RAM Member. RAM short for "Restricted Active Member" They are high school students age 16-18 who are allowed to train, participate, and respond up to the extent that they have received formal training. RAM members become full members when they reach 18 years old. This is a great program that is a win win for the department and the member. Keegan is a member of the varsity football team, enjoys working on vehicles, and loves his community. He has had a long term dream of becoming a firefighter and is excited to serve his community.

Welcome Codey and Keegan, we look forward to working with you and watching you progress in your careers as firefighters.
