Members of the SLVFD recently participated in the annual Memorial Day parade and service in Saranac Lake.

The following text is "cut and pasted" from an internal announcement to the members of the SLVFD from our Chief, Brendan Keough. "It would be great to get a large turnout of SLVFD members to help our local veterans association honor and remember our veterans. Especially all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice". Take a look at the pictures and you will see that the membership must have agreed with the Chief.

The SLVFD's culture is full of tradition and it is a culture that honors those who have served and sacrificed. We not only honor our military, but also our families, our past members, and fallen firefighters everywhere who have passed on before us.

For those interested, we invite you to stop and observe our monument next to the firehouse. We also invite you to follow the link on the left "Honors and Awards" and click on "Honor Roll". There you can view the names of our members "both alive and deceased" who have left active service after serving 20 years of with the SLVFD, became disabled while serving with the SLVFD, or who died while in active service with the SLVFD.

We will never forget!!!
