The SLVFD is very grateful to all who contribute. Your contributions help us keep our community safe.

Recently the Adirondack Artists' Guild sponsored a silent auction. The auction entitled "Fire Auction" featured fire related artwork contributed by 15 Artists' Guild members. The art was on display for the month of January and bids were solicited for the artwork. 75% of the proceeds was donated to the SLVFD.

In the coming months the SLVFD is facing several major purchases of needed equipment. One of these purchases will be the replacement of our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus "SCBA". Our current "SCBA" is badly outdated. Air Packs "SCBA" allow our firefighters to breath fresh air when working in hazardous environments, it allows us to go further into buildings for search and rescue and to put out fires. Quotes for the new equipment are being received, it is expected that the expense to the volunteers will be north of $200,000. Every contribution we receive is appreciated and it goes a long way toward meeting our goal of keeping our community safe.

Burdette Parks of the Adirondack Artists' Guild recently stopped by and dropped of a donation of $2,036 which represented the 75% of the "Fire Auction" proceeds. Thank you so much, we sincerely appreciate your efforts.
