It's that time of year again. October brings "National Fire Protection Week" The SLVFD will participate by going to schools to teach fire safety, provide fire safey literature and announcements, and as is tradition we will hold our annual open house on Saturday October 12th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Dispays will include the new ladder truck, our ATV and "Rescue Boggin", All of the fire trucks, our new underwater camera, ice rescue suits, and various other specialty rescue equipment. There will be handouts and literature on hand to help you learn how to stay safe.

There will be free videos for the kids to watch, free plastic fire helmets and free coloring books.

We will also have a supply of free 9 volt batteries on hand so you can change your smoke detector batteries.

The SLVFD is a proud organization and we love this opportunity to show our community our station and equipment. We also love the opportunity to meet the folks we protect.
