SLVFD Dive Team is Expanding

Recently 3 SLVFD firefighters have been actively training to expand their volunteer duties by becoming scuba divers for the SLVFD Dive Team.

Firefighters Daryl Brier, Nate Jones, and Andrea Boon have recently completed the Open Water Basic Scuba class provided by Lake City Scuba. Next the 3 new divers will begin additional training to be able to conduct underwater search, rescue, and recovery.

These 3 new divers will join the 6 current team members, bringing the total number of SLVFD divers to 9.

We can't say it enough, it takes a lot of training and preparation to be ready for the vast array of emergencies the SLVFD regularly respond to.

We are proud of and sincerely appreciate the additional effort these three members are giving to keep the community we love safe.
