Life at the SLVFD includes a massive amount of training to ensure we are prepared to keep the community we love safe. Currently your SLVFD members are engaged in NYS required training, a long term NFPA compliant Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator course and monthly in house fire schools.

In September our monthly fire school included motor vehicle extrication. Unfortunately this task is one we are called on frequently to perform. Keeping sharp in these skills is critical.

Enjoy some photos from Septembers drill conducted in Ray Brook on 9/29/2017. Special thanks to Madden's Garage for assisting us by arranging vehicle donations, removing contaminants from the vehicles, placing them for our training, and then removing and disposing of the vehicles. We could not do this training without Madden's Garage support.
