Once again area fire departments will converge on Saranac Lake to help escort Santa to the Harrietstown Town Hall where he will have a chance to visit with area children.

The event is sponsored by Home Energy of Saranac Lake and has traditionally had a fire truck participate. For the last 2 years we upped the ante and invited surrounding fire departments to join us by decorating their trucks and leading Santa's float.

This year will be even bigger, we have invited even more departments and they will compete for the best decorated truck.
Last year the best decorated trophy went to The Adirondack Regional Airports CFR Truck. Competition will be keen to unseat last years champion.

This year we have selected SLVFD's own Ken McLaughlin as our Grand Marshall. Ken completes 50 years of service with the SLVFD this year. We are very proud of his service and it is our honor to highlight Ken's decades of service.

The trucks will stage between 5:30pm and 6:00pm. At 6:00pm the decorated trucks will lead Santa's float from Van Buren Street down Broadway to the town hall where Santa will meet the children. The parade can easily be viewed anywhere on Broadway.
